Description: Provides up to 90% loan guarantees for economic development projects of federally recognized, native American tribes or tribal individuals. Working waterfront projects are eligible for coastal tribal lands. Guaranties for individuals are limited to $500,000; for tribes they are unlimited but constrained by the availability of funds. Banks and non-banking lenders may participate, and may apply to the BIA’s Division of Capital Investment for an interest subsidy for up to five years.
