Create common ground between public and private sectors. Fisheries Innovation Fund helps fishermen and communities to establish sustainable fisheries. Fishing for Energy Program works to reduce the amount of derelict fishing gear. In 2011 and 2012 combined the Fisheries Innovation Fund granted $3.8 million. Grants awarded in 2011 for the Fishing for Energy Program totaled about $165K.
