Description: A nationwide network of 32 university-based programs that work with coastal communities while conducting scientific research, education, training, and extension projects designed to foster science-based decisions about the use and conservation of aquatic resources. The programs support Marine Extension personnel who work with Working Waterfront users and owners. Individual state programs design and conduct their activities utilizing citizen advisory committees while reporting to the national Sea Grant office.
