The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will be holding a training session, “Estimating the Local Marine Economy” on February 3rd, 2025 prior to the conference start date in San Diego, CA. Participants will learn how to describe the coastal and marine economy for your community using economic data and local knowledge, identify industries vulnerable to coastal hazards, and tell a compelling story with economic data and information for your community.

The San Diego Working Waterfront by Water: Port of San Diego Cruise – February 5, 2025
3:00 – 5:00 PM PST
As part of the conference, there will be a half day field trip on Wednesday afternoon, February 5th, open to all attendees. The field trip will be a 90-minute narrated cruise of the Port of San Diego, a wonderful opportunity to see and learn about the working waterfront of San Diego by water. The cruise will include viewing of Seaport Village, Shelter Island, ship-building and dry-docking facilities, Coronado Island, Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument, and much more. This field trip is at no additional cost, and is included in the cost of registration.
Pre-Conference Field Trips – February 3, 2025
There will be two pre-conference fields trips offered by partners of the NWWN on Monday, February 3rd. Timing will likely be morning and midday. Details are currently being coordinated.
